    域名资讯网2010年4月1日讯  欧洲时间3月31日外国媒体报道，法国巴黎市政府承认2011年也启用不了.paris 域,公众不要急于认为ICANN会很快批准新的gTLD应用。这消息进一步印证了ICANN的CEO在2010年新年贺词中所说的：new gTLD预计要2013年才能启用。

    Mar 31, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Although it appointed internet registrars Afnic and Core last October as the technical provider of the future .paris domain, the city hall is unlikely to make it available to residents and businesses before next year, writes 01net Informatique. The city has launched an awareness raising campaign and online petition to help speed up the process.

    ICANN initially considered setting up a special process for cities with strong applications to secure city domain names such as .paris or .london, but did not refer to it during its 37th international conference in Nairobi, Kenya, at the start of March. Neither did it provide any information on an alternative application process. Afnic handles the .fr and .re top-level domain names. Switzerland-based core, runs .cat, Spanish region Catalonia's TLD.
